Anyone can be average, that’s why it’s called average!

I’m a little different in that I’m wired to work myself to death in order to provide great things for the folks I work with and for. This can be good and bad. I’ll likely have a heart attack before the person with the Type B personality realizes they overslept again! (<– That was a joke, relax!)

The real question is, are you striving for excellence or just getting by? If it’s the latter for you, it might be time to do some self-reflection and determine if your doing the right things and/or if you’re in the right position or role. It might be time to change roles or move to a new organization, and it might be time to simply step back an re-evaluate your priorities and re-focus your efforts in your current role or organization.

Awesomeness can come in many forms, and if you’re working your butt off to better yourself and do better things for your organization, you’re likely doing just fine and probably being too hard on yourself if you don’t think you’re good enough. If you’re not working your butt off to make things better (you know who you are), maybe its time to step it up and reinvent your “why” so you can achieve great things for the folks you serve.

No matter what you choose, don’t let yourself get stagnant. It isn’t good for you, and it hurts those around you whether or not you realize it.

Get out there and be awesome!
