There is so much technology in our lives! SO MUCH.
It’s really important to consider our priorities and remove tech from our lives sometimes. I know from personal experience that I can get really attached to my tech, so much so that it is like having a leash tugging at me and telling me what to do or where to go all the time. It’s time to lose the leash.
If you’re tech-addicted (or work-addicted, or other-something-addicted), consider switching from your Apple watch and iPhone to a dumb watch and purposefully set phone boundaries. Trade the AirPods for a human connection or just listen to the birds and nature. Enable the do not disturb mode on your phone.
We become so immersed with technology that we often forget that there is a human side to life. We were created to be in relationships with others, so get out there and talk to people (yes, I’m talking to you who are introverts, too!). Strike up a conversation with someone in line at the grocery store. Compliment someone. Encourage someone. Learn more about the fascinating people in this big [HUGE] world around you. Get outside of yourself and consider the relationships you’ve been neglecting. Call that person you’ve meant to call but keep putting it off because you’re too busy.
If we all take a step back from our normal tech-glued lives, I think we’ll find that there’s a lot of great stuff out there for us, whether it’s taking some time to enjoy a walk, looking at a beautiful sunset at the beach after work, or, if you’re like me, just chilling with your dogs and enjoying being free from your leash.
Where can you start to lose the leash? Give it a try, I promise it will be worth it!
